State Govt orders all offices to remain open despite bandh calls; warns of action against absentees

The Government of Manipur has directed all administrative secretaries, heads of departments, and deputy commissioners to ensure full attendance in government offices amid calls for disruption and bandh by various groups.

In an urgent order issued today by Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, all departments were instructed to maintain normal functioning of offices and subordinate offices across the state. Attendance reports must be submitted to the concerned administrative departments.

The order states that departmental proceedings will be initiated against employees absent from duty without authorized leave. Deputy Commissioners have been separately directed to ensure that all district offices remain functional and to enforce attendance.

The move comes in response to bandh calls issued by various groups, with the state government emphasizing continuity of public services and administrative work.
