Nemcha Kipgen, Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, has strongly condemned the violent attack that took place in Mulam village under Ukhrul district on Friday.
In an official statement issued from Kangpokpi, Kipgen described the incident as a “brutal and cowardly attack” carried out by armed miscreants. She expressed deep anguish over the senseless violence, which reportedly led to the destruction of homes, damage to properties, and injuries to several civilians, including women and children.
Calling the act “barbaric and inhuman,” the Deputy Chief Minister stated that such violence against unarmed villagers poses a direct threat to the social fabric and peace of society. She extended her heartfelt solidarity to the victims and affected families, acknowledging the immense loss of homes, security, and peace faced by the community.
Kipgen also made a strong appeal to all communities to maintain restraint and uphold peace during this critical time. Emphasizing that violence only deepens divisions and hinders progress, she urged people to reject hatred and retaliation.
“Let us come together in unity to rebuild and move forward,” she said, calling for collective efforts to ensure a peaceful, secure, and prosperous society.
The incident has once again raised concerns over safety and stability in the region, with authorities expected to take further measures to restore normalcy.
