Government of Manipur Mandates Strict Attendance Amid Bandh Calls

In response to calls for disruption and bandh by various groups, the Government of Manipur has issued an urgent directive enforcing strict attendance across all government offices in the state.

The order, released from the Office of the Chief Secretary in Imphal, instructs all Administrative Secretaries and Heads of Departments to ensure that employees are present in their respective offices, including subordinate offices. Authorities have been asked to submit regular attendance reports to the concerned administrative departments.

The directive clearly warns that employees absent without authorized leave will face departmental action. It also directs all Deputy Commissioners to ensure the proper functioning of government offices across districts and to take necessary action against those failing to report to duty.

Signed by Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, the order highlights the government’s efforts to maintain administrative operations despite ongoing tensions.

The circular has been forwarded to senior officials, including the Chief Minister’s office, departmental heads, and district authorities, for immediate implementation.
