The Dongsum Village Authority has issued a strong counter statement rejecting allegations made by the Sinakeithel Village Authority in a release dated April 17, 2026. The authority described the claims as “false, malicious, and defamatory,” asserting that they are aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Dongsum village without any factual basis.
In its official statement, the Dongsum Village Authority clarified that no individual named “Seipu Doungel,” as mentioned in the earlier claims, exists in the village. It termed the attribution as fabricated and irresponsible, raising concerns over the intent behind naming a non-existent person to support what it called baseless allegations.
The authority also addressed claims regarding the Leplen–Tingpibung road, stating that it is a civilian route regularly used by residents for daily movement and essential connectivity. It firmly denied allegations that the road is being used for transporting arms or militants, calling such accusations “complete fabrication and propaganda” lacking any evidence.
Further, the authority accused those issuing the allegations of spreading misinformation and warned that such actions are not only irresponsible but could inflame tensions and disrupt peace in the region.
The Dongsum Village Authority has demanded that the Sinakeithel Village Authority disclose the basis of its claims and issue an unconditional public apology. It cautioned that failure to do so would leave it with no option but to pursue legal action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including provisions related to defamation and acts that may provoke a breach of peace.
Reaffirming its commitment to truth and peaceful coexistence, the authority urged all parties to refrain from spreading misinformation and to work towards maintaining harmony in Kangpokpi District.
The statement concludes with a call for accountability and responsible communication to prevent further escalation of tensions in the area.
