National Testing Agency has issued a press release addressing reports related to alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET (UG) 2026 examination, stating that the examination held on May 3 was conducted under strict security arrangements and according to established protocols.
According to the statement, the examination process included GPS-tracked transportation of question papers, AI-assisted CCTV surveillance from centralized control rooms, biometric verification of candidates, and the use of 5G jammers at examination centres. The agency maintained that the examination proceeded smoothly across all centres on the scheduled date.
The NTA further stated that it received inputs regarding alleged malpractice activities on the late evening of May 7, four days after the examination. These inputs were subsequently forwarded to central agencies on May 8 for independent verification and necessary action. The agency noted that recent detentions reported in the media were the result of investigations carried out by law enforcement agencies.
Emphasizing that the matter remains under investigation, the NTA said it would not speculate on the outcome of the inquiry and assured that any findings or recommendations by investigating agencies would be examined transparently and in accordance with established procedures.
Addressing NEET aspirants and their families, the agency stated that the integrity and efforts of the vast majority of genuine candidates should not be questioned or undermined due to the ongoing probe. It also acknowledged the anxiety caused by such reports and urged candidates to allow investigating agencies to complete their work.
The NTA reiterated its commitment to conducting fair, secure, and credible examinations while extending full cooperation to investigating authorities in safeguarding the integrity of the examination system.
