KNA-B denies link to viral video, calls claims ‘baseless’

The Kuki National Army, Burma (KNA-B) on Thursday issued a clarification denying any connection to a viral video circulating on social media.

According to the statement dated 24 April 2026 from the Office of the Kuki National Organisation, Government of Kuki State, the video shows “unknown youths” who are blindfolded, with claims that KNA-B members were involved in an “inhumane attack on civilians” in India. The KNA-B described those claims as “baseless and false.”

The statement also said that portions of the video purporting to show “alleged KNA-B soldiers being killed” are “fake.”

The KNA-B stated that it “has no presence inside India” and that its “larger objectives” are in Burma. It added that KNA-B cadres do not wear the uniform seen in the video, noting that its insignias are worn on both shoulders, unlike those shown. The group also cited the Burmese language heard in the video, stating that KNA-B “does not have Si-Aso members in its ranks.”

The statement further said that the KNA-B had previously urged “Tangkhuls of Manipur to maintain restraint within the Christian Kukis and Tangkhuls communities.” It added that if “such trend of misinformation continues, we will not remain a mere spectator.”
