KANGPOKPI: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen underscored the renewed momentum of governance under the “Popular Government” while making a strong appeal for peace and communal harmony, as she graced a major distribution programme organised by the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC) in Kangpokpi.
Addressing the gathering, Kipgen described the initiative as the first large-scale distribution undertaken by the Council since the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that it reflects a “revitalised commitment to grassroots development and responsive governance.”
She asserted that the Popular Government has ushered in a phase of people-centric delivery and accountability, ensuring that benefits directly reach the intended communities after years of disruption.
“The true strength of governance lies in its ability to uplift the last mile. Today’s programme is a testament to our commitment to rebuild, restore, and empower our people,” she said.
Emphasising peace and coexistence, the Deputy Chief Minister issued a firm and unequivocal appeal to all communities and village chiefs across the district to avoid violence and uphold harmony.
“Development cannot take root in an atmosphere of fear and division. Every community must commit to a dignified and peaceful way of life. Peace is not optional—it is the foundation upon which progress stands,” Kipgen said, calling for collective responsibility in maintaining stability in the region.

The programme focused on strengthening both the education and agriculture sectors, with the distribution of furniture, stationery, and sports items to schools, alongside farm equipment, agricultural seeds, fertilisers, sprayer pumps, and other essential tools aimed at boosting productivity and supporting farmers at the grassroots level.
Kipgen noted that such interventions are crucial for building a self-reliant and resilient Kangpokpi, adding, “When we invest in our schools and our farmers, we are investing in the future of our society.”
Reiterating her vision, she said that the government remains committed to fostering inclusive growth, dignity, and opportunity, while urging citizens to work together in unity.
“Together, we must move forward—stronger, united, and self-reliant,” she added.
