Deputy CM Nemcha Kipgen Condemns Death of Two Toddlers in Bishnupur, Urges Restraint Amid Rising Violence

Imphal/Kangpokpi: Nemcha Kipgen has expressed profound grief and strong condemnation over the tragic death of two toddlers and the injury of their mother in Bishnupur district earlier on Tuesday.
In a statement issued from Kangpokpi, Kipgen described the loss of the young lives as “deeply distressing and wholly unacceptable,” stating that such incidents strike at the conscience of society and call for collective responsibility and introspection.

She extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and solace for them during the difficult time. The Deputy Chief Minister also conveyed her concern for the injured mother, wishing her a speedy recovery.
Expressing alarm over continuing reports of firing incidents in Ukhrul district, Kipgen noted that ongoing violence is exacerbating fear among civilians, disrupting normal life, and eroding the social fabric of the state.

Calling for calm, she urged all concerned groups and individuals to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from any actions that could escalate tensions further. “At this critical juncture, maintaining peace and safeguarding civilian lives must remain our highest priority,” she stated.

Reaffirming the government’s stance, Kipgen emphasized that authorities remain committed to upholding the rule of law, ensuring justice, and fostering an environment of peace, stability, and unity across all communities in Manipur.
Further details regarding the incident are awaited as security forces continue to monitor the situation in the affected areas.
