The Government of Nagaland on January 28 launched Nagaland–Japan Connect 2026, a flagship initiative to promote overseas employment, skill development, and institutional partnerships with Japan. Organised by IDAN at IBHIC, Dimapur, the programme aims to prepare Naga youth for global workplaces while strengthening long-term cooperation with Japan.
Senior officials from Nagaland and Japan’s Kochi Prefecture, industry leaders, academics, and hundreds of youths attended the event. Leaders highlighted growing job demands, Japan’s need for skilled workers, and the importance of language training, discipline, and global exposure.
Several MoUs were signed to institutionalise cooperation in vocational training, internships, overseas placements, agriculture, and investment facilitation. Konnekt Asia was named Nagaland’s official representative in Japan, while partnerships were formed to integrate language and technical training.
The event also featured technical sessions on Japanese work culture and recruitment, direct employer interviews, and over 450 student registrations. Nagaland–Japan Connect 2026 marks a major step toward global workforce integration and long-term economic resilience for the State.
