Tripura Government Pledges to Boost Education Infrastructure, Says Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath

Quality education is vital for fostering a transparent and corruption-free society, said Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath, emphasizing that the state government is focused on comprehensive reforms in the education sector to realize this goal.

Nath made the remarks while inaugurating the newly constructed building of Madhu Choudhury Para Higher Secondary School in Mohanpur. He also virtually inaugurated new facilities at Tarapur, Gopalnagar, and Berimura Higher Secondary Schools. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the event at the Madhu Choudhury Para school premises.

Highlighting the government’s vision of “Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura” and “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat,” Nath said that fundamental reforms in education are crucial to achieving these objectives. “If we want a corruption-free society, quality education is indispensable. The classroom is where the nation’s future is shaped,” he added.

The minister noted that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, and the government is working to make them self-reliant. He pointed to significant progress under the current administration, including the rise in pre-primary schools from 9 before 2018 to 180 today, the establishment of twelve Vidya Jyoti schools, the introduction of vocational education in 478 schools, and the expansion of English-medium schools from 111 to 422. The Super 30 program was also launched to enhance academic excellence.

Nath also highlighted advancements in healthcare, noting the introduction of nine super-specialty services at GB Hospital, the establishment of a government dental college, and the setup of several private medical colleges and hospitals.

“Our government follows the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. True development is impossible without the upliftment of tribal communities,” he concluded.
