Washington D.C. — President Donald Trump said that the United States and Iran are close to reaching an agreement under which Iran would hand over enriched uranium, following six weeks of conflict between the two nations.
President Trump stated that the next round of US-Iran talks may take place this weekend in Pakistan. He indicated that a deal could be signed in Islamabad and that he might attend the signing.
The President noted that while negotiations are progressing, a ceasefire remains uncertain and fighting may resume if an agreement is not reached.
The proposed deal centers on Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile, a key point of contention in recent hostilities.
