Manipur CM assures all-out efforts to rescue abducted villagers amid tensions


Imphal, May 20: Amid rising tensions in parts of Manipur, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has assured that the state government is making all-out efforts to safely rescue villagers who were reportedly abducted during recent incidents of unrest.


The Chief Minister stated that security agencies have intensified search operations in the affected areas and are working in close coordination to trace the missing individuals at the earliest. He also appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours that could further worsen the situation.


According to officials, additional security personnel have been deployed in vulnerable regions to prevent further violence and ensure the safety of civilians. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as tensions continue to prevail in certain parts of the state.


The government reiterated its commitment to restoring peace and maintaining law and order, while assuring that strict action would be taken against those involved in unlawful activities. Community leaders and civil society organisations have also urged all groups to maintain restraint and support ongoing peace efforts.
