Imphal, May 5: The Thadou Inpi Manipur has urged all stakeholders involved in the ongoing crisis in Manipur to engage in an inclusive and sincere dialogue process, while calling on authorities to take firm action against elements that threaten peace and stability in the state.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the organization emphasized that sustainable peace can only be achieved through meaningful engagement that includes representatives from all affected communities. It stressed that exclusion or selective dialogue could further deepen mistrust and prolong tensions.
The group also expressed concern over the continued activities of anti-peace forces, alleging that certain elements are deliberately attempting to derail reconciliation efforts. It called upon the government to identify and act decisively against such actors, stating that accountability is essential to restore public confidence.
Reiterating its commitment to peace and unity, Thadou Inpi Manipur appealed to civil society organizations, community leaders, and the public to reject violence and support constructive dialogue. It further highlighted the importance of safeguarding the rights and security of all communities without discrimination.
The organization concluded by urging both the state and central governments to prioritize peace-building measures and ensure that law and order are effectively maintained across conflict-affected areas.
