The Bungpi-Ihang Defence Committee, Kangpokpi District, on Thursday issued a condolence message regarding the deaths of two individuals in Mulam village.
According to the statement dated 24 April 2026, Tahchapa Letlal Sitlhou alias James Kuki, of K. Khonom Village, and Tahchapa Paominlun Haolai alias Hitlal Kuki, of Haijang Village, died during an incident in Mulam village. The committee described them as “Kuki-Zo Village Volunteers.”
The statement attributed the incident to an “attack by Tangkhul militants” and said the two died while “defending Mullam village.” It added that, as per Kuki customs, they would be honored as“Tahchapa” The committee extended condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with them.
