The Mizoram Legislative Assembly is set to begin its Budget Session on February 17, an official announced on Monday, January 12.
The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) will finalize the detailed schedule of the session, including the date for presenting the Budget for the 2026–27 fiscal year. Lalthangmawia, Additional Secretary of the Assembly Secretariat, said the BAC, chaired by Speaker Lalbiakzama, has yet to meet to outline the programme. He added that the committee will also determine the session’s duration based on the amount of official business to be conducted.
This will mark the sixth session of the ninth Mizoram Legislative Assembly since the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government, led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, took office in December 2023.
