K. Meghachandra Blames N. Biren Singh for Manipur Crisis, Calls Former CM’s Statement “Unfounded”

Imphal, Manipur: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President K. Meghachandra in a Facebook post today strongly criticized former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh’s recent statement, calling it “unfounded” and indicative of “deep self-confusion.”

Reacting to Singh’s remarks, Meghachandra stated that the ongoing crisis in Manipur is a direct consequence of the “failed administration” under Biren Singh and the “flawed political policies” of the BJP-led double-engine government.

He further asserted that the recent extension of President’s Rule in the state is not a routine decision by the Centre, but a “clear indictment” of the BJP government’s inability to maintain law and order.

“Let us not forget: Manipur began its descent into turmoil after your government came to power in 2017,” the MPCC President remarked, highlighting the worsening situation in the state.

Meghachandra added that Manipur today stands “shattered — socially, economically, and emotionally,” and warned that the people are facing grave challenges on all fronts.

The statement comes amid continuing unrest and uncertainty in the state, drawing sharp political responses from all sides.
