Mass Awareness Campaign on Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025 Conducted at Tamenglong, Manipur

The Organising Committee of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2025, Tamenglong College, conducted a mass awareness campaign on March 12, 2025, at various places in Tamenglong district headquarters. The campaign was flagged off by Dr. Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal, Tamenglong College, at 11:00 am. The team then visited various locations, including the Mini Secretariat (DC Office), Autonomous District Council (ADC) Office, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Office, Sub-Divisional Office (SDO) Office, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office, and a few market places.

During the awareness program, Dr. L. Angshim Dangshawa, IAS, DC Tamenglong, urged the youths to register themselves on the mybharat.gov.in portal to participate in this important event. Shri N. Abonpou Christopher, ZEO Tamenglong and member of the Organising Committee, also appealed to the youths to participate in this youth parliament.

Notably, while the team was organizing a mass awareness campaign at the Open Restaurant near Rani Gaidinliu Women’s Market, Shri Dipu Gangmei (IAS retd.), Hon’ble MLA Nungba AC, along with Ms. Ramning Pame and Ms. Hatlhing Doungel, Hon’ble ex-MDCs, visited the team and encouraged them to give their best for the success of the event.

According to a press statement released by the College, the campaign team comprises of seven teachers, including Makhou Gangmei, NSS-PO; Namsurei Thomas Kamei, IQAC Coordinator; NG Tuakeulung; Dr. S. Solomon; and Ngampingampou Gonmei; Ngamtinlun Touthang; and 15 NSS volunteers. It is also worth noting that awareness campaign at the college level was organized twice at Tamenglong College, i.e., on March 6 and 10, 2025.

The last date for online registration at the MyBharat portal (mybharat.gov.in) is March 16, 2025, and the district-level youth parliament is tentatively scheduled to be held at Tamenglong College on March 21, 2025.

Tamenglong has been chosen as one of the six nodal districts of Manipur, with Jiribam serving as its associate district and Mr. N. Sat Lian Joy, DYO, NYKS, as the overall incharge. The VBYP 2025 is being organised by the Tamenglong nodal district Organising Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Each district level VBYP 2025 will select 10 participants each for the state level, which will further send two participants to the national level later this month.
