The Committee on Tribal Unity (CoTU), Sadar Hills, on Saturday issued a clarification regarding a viral social media post and a separate incident in Daili Village.
According to the statement dated 26 April 2026, CoTU said it had addressed a post titled “Ultimatum/Warning” that had been circulating online, allegedly in the name of “KUKI TAHCHAPA HO.”
The committee stated that upon verification, the message was found not to be an official communication of any recognized organization. It added that preliminary findings indicated the post originated from an individual acting out of anger, and that it “does not reflect the views, position or policy of the Kuki community.” The statement said the act was regarded with “strong disapproval.”
Regarding a separate incident in Daili Village involving a Bolero vehicle, the statement said the vehicle allegedly spilled diesel and there was an attempt to set a house ablaze. CoTU stated that it had taken “serious note” of the matter and that appropriate steps had been taken to prevent recurrence. The committee added that the “culprits involved have been identified” and, with the support of Kangpokpi Police, “have all been arrested and in custody.”
CoTU urged the public to exercise restraint, refrain from sharing unverified or inflammatory content, and cooperate in maintaining peace and mutual respect. The statement said the organization remains committed to safeguarding communal harmony in the region.
