On January 29, Manipur’s security forces intensified counter-insurgency operations, leading to multiple arrests, arms seizures, and neutralisation of IEDs near the Indo–Myanmar border.
In Imphal East, two KCP (MC Progressive) cadres and one PREPAK (Pro) member were arrested, with mobile phones seized. Border and hill districts saw significant recoveries, including IEDs, mortars, hand grenades, rifles, pistols, and ammunition. Three IEDs near Moreh were safely neutralised.
Officials said the operations aim to disrupt militant networks and secure conflict-prone and border areas of the state.
