Tamenglong, January 24: Tamenglong College observed the 16th National Voters’ Day on Saturday with a series of awareness activities aimed at promoting democratic values and responsible citizenship. The programme was held at the College Multi-Purpose Hall under the theme “My India, My Vote – Indian Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy.”
The event was organized in collaboration with MY Bharat, Tamenglong, and witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and NCC and NSS volunteers, including Dr. Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal, Shri Dibam Gonmei, Vice-Principal, and Shri Namsurei Thomas Kamei, IQAC Coordinator.
As part of the programme, a Spot Open Quiz Competition on electoral awareness was conducted to encourage students to learn about the electoral process and citizens’ rights and duties. Winners were awarded certificates and prizes, while participants were also provided with T-shirts and caps as part of the awareness drive.
A Voters’ Pledge session was also held during the programme, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to uphold democratic values, ensure free and fair elections, and exercise their right to vote without fear or discrimination.

In addition, posters highlighting the stages of the electoral process—from nomination to polling and results—were displayed to enhance public understanding of election procedures. Volunteers and participants also took part in a voter awareness campaign rally organised as part of the program.
