JAIPUR: Haulianlal Guite, IAS, currently serving as Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Control in Jaipur, Rajasthan, has successfully completed his PhD in Political Science from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur. His doctoral research, titled “An Analysis of Digital Media’s Impact on Contemporary Political Doxa,” was completed earlier this week.
Guite is set to begin a study leave next week to pursue the prestigious Fulbright-Humphrey Fellowship at the University of Minnesota, USA. It has been confirmed that he has secured approval for the fellowship from both the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan.
In August 2024, while serving as Commissioner and Special Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Rajasthan, Guite was honored in the Gold Category by the Government of India for his role in developing the AI-enabled Rajsilicosis portal—an innovative e-governance initiative.
A 2011-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, Guite is also the author of the philosophical work “Confessions of a Dying Mind: The Blind Faith of Atheism,” published in 2017 and launched by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju. He was the youngest IAS from Manipur then.
The Fulbright-Humphrey Fellowship is a distinguished mid-career leadership exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State under the Fulbright Program. It brings together accomplished international professionals to foster leadership, collaboration, and solutions to pressing local and global challenges.
