Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, will head the Indian delegation at the 64th Session of the United Nations Commission for Social Development, scheduled to be held at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The session, beginning on February 2, will focus on promoting international cooperation on key social development issues, including social inclusion, equity, and welfare-oriented policies. It will also provide a platform for Member States to review progress, exchange best practices, and share experiences in advancing social development globally.
According to the Ministry of Women and Child Development, India’s participation underscores the country’s ongoing engagement with multilateral initiatives on social development. The Ministry highlighted that the visit will offer opportunities for dialogue with UN agencies and representatives of other nations, reinforcing India’s commitment to contributing to global social policy discussions.
