UAE President Responds to US Invitation to Serve on Gaza Peace Board

The United Arab Emirates President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has accepted an invitation from the United States to join the newly formed Board of Peace for Gaza.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the UAE will participate in the board, highlighting the country’s support for former President Trump’s 20-point peace plan and its commitment to safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people.

Former US President Donald Trump has also extended invitations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the initiative. The board is designed to promote stability in Gaza, oversee reconstruction efforts, and attract investment following recent conflicts.

A White House statement outlined that the board’s Executive members will manage key areas vital to Gaza’s long-term recovery, including governance capacity-building, regional relations, reconstruction, investment promotion, large-scale funding, and capital mobilisation. Countries contributing at least $1 billion will receive permanent board seats, while other participants will serve three-year terms.
