US President Donald Trump has intensified his warnings to Iran over stalled nuclear negotiations, cautioning that any future US strike could be significantly more severe than previous actions.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump urged Tehran to promptly engage in talks for a “fair and equitable” deal that would eliminate nuclear weapons, stressing that time is running out. He also referenced prior military actions, warning that a future strike would be much harsher if Iran fails to comply.
Iran responded firmly. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the country’s armed forces are ready to react immediately and decisively to any attack on its territory, airspace, or waters. Araghchi reiterated that Iran seeks a fair nuclear agreement, has not pursued nuclear weapons, and opposes negotiations conducted under threats or coercion.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations, along with Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, echoed the warning, emphasizing that the nation will defend itself forcefully if provoked, while remaining open to dialogue based on mutual respect and interests.
Tensions have escalated as Trump told reporters that Washington is closely monitoring Iran, with a large US fleet deployed to the region. The US Central Command also announced ongoing multi-day readiness exercises designed to strengthen regional partnerships and maintain flexible response capabilities.
