Tamenglong, Feb. 20: The district-level edition of the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect and Youth Parliament 2026 will be held at Tamenglong College on March 2 at 9:30 am, according to a notification issued by Chunthuingam Dangmei, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, Tamenglong District.
The event is organised under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, with and aim to provide a platform for young people to develop leadership skills, enhance personalities, and participate in discussions on issues shaping India’s future in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Eligible youth aged between 18 and 25 years as of February 28, 2026, are invited to apply for participation. Each participant will be given three minutes to present their views during the youth parliament session.
The best five from the district round will advance to the state-level competition from which three winners will be selected to represent the state at the national-level youth parliament to be held in New Delhi at a later date.
The theme chosen for this year’s youth parliament is “50 Years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy,” encouraging participants to reflect on the historical period and its implications for democratic values and institutions in India.
