Support Grows Among Baloch Groups and Political Figures for BLA’s Operation Herof

In Balochistan, several armed organisations, political figures, and segments of the local population have voiced support for the Baloch Liberation Army’s (BLA) ongoing “second phase” of Operation Herof. The BLA has claimed that its fighters continue to hold positions in multiple districts, more than 15 hours after coordinated attacks on Pakistani security forces.

BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that the operation remains active in areas including Shaal and Noshki, with fighters reportedly exerting pressure on Pakistani security forces and local authorities. According to him, the operation targets Pakistan’s military and administrative structures in the province.

The move comes amid longstanding calls from Baloch activists and human rights organisations highlighting what they describe as systemic repression by Pakistani authorities. These reports cite raids on homes, unlawful arrests, enforced disappearances, targeted killings, and fabricated legal cases against Baloch leaders and civilians.

Baloch nationalist groups have repeatedly framed their struggle as a fight for autonomy and independence from Pakistan, underscoring deep-rooted tensions in the region.
