Sikkim Initiates Fast-Track Regularization for Temporary Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ Employees

The Sikkim government has instructed all departments to expedite the regularization of eligible temporary employees in Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ categories who have completed four years of continuous service.

In a circular issued on January 8, Rinzing Chewang Bhutia, the Secretary of the Personnel Department, called for all departments to submit any pending proposals for regularization by January 31. The circular highlighted that the first phase of regularization, covering employees who became eligible as of December 31, 2023, was launched nearly two years ago but remains incomplete in several departments. The government has now set a firm deadline for the finalization of all pending cases.

The directive aims not only to complete the first phase of regularization but also to set the stage for considering employees who will become eligible by December 31, 2024, in line with existing government policy.

This move is expected to provide relief to many temporary employees and help streamline the regularization process across various departments, ensuring that government policies are uniformly applied.
