Purabi Dairy Launches New Milk Booth at Shradhanjali Kanan, Guwahati

Guwahati : Purabi Dairy, the flagship consumer brand of West Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited (WAMUL), has opened a new booth at ShradhanjaliKanan in Guwahati. This initiative, part of a collaboration with the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), aims to enhance access to hygienic and affordable dairy products throughout the city.

The booth was officially inaugurated on Thursday by SB Bose, Managing Director of North East Dairy and Foods Limited (NEDFL), along with key officials including SM Hussain, General Manager of NEDFL, Kuldeep Borah, General Manager of WAMUL, and other representatives from both organizations.

In his address, Bose emphasized that the growth of Assam’s dairy sector is closely tied to the expansion of organized retail and improved product reach. He highlighted that more booths like this one are planned for strategic public locations across the city under the WAMUL–GMDA partnership, aimed at strengthening last-mile delivery of dairy products while providing sustainable livelihoods for cooperative farmer members. The booth infrastructure has been sourced by WAMUL through the World Bank–funded APART project, which is focused on developing organized dairy systems in Assam.

Kuldeep Borah added, “Milk production, procurement, and consumption are all on the rise in Assam. By expanding our product penetration, we can grow the market, support our farmers, and ensure this business remains firmly rooted in Assam.”

The new booth will offer a full range of Purabi Dairy products, including milk and various value-added dairy items, making them easily accessible for residents and visitors in the nearby areas.
