President Droupadi Murmu will begin a six-day visit to her home state of Odisha from today. She is set to arrive in Bhubaneswar this evening and will participate in a series of official, cultural, academic, and religious events across Khordha, Jajpur, Balasore, Puri, and Mayurbhanj districts.
During the visit, the President will engage in diverse activities reflecting both her personal and official commitments. Tomorrow, she will offer prayers at the Maa Biraja Temple in Jajpur, perform rituals at Navi Gaya, and attend the 12th Convocation Ceremony of Fakir Mohan University in Balasore as the Chief Guest. In the evening, she will proceed to Puri for darshan at the Shree Jagannath Temple.
On Wednesday, President Murmu will return to her home district of Mayurbhanj, inaugurating a holiday home in Rairangpur, visiting a Girls’ Higher Secondary School, unveiling the statue of tribal leader Bhanjbir Sunaram Soren, and inaugurating a sports complex.
Thursday’s schedule includes a special programme at the Rairangpur Jagannath Temple and a visit to Simlipal National Park. On February 6, she will interact with tribal women and youth groups before returning to Bhubaneswar to attend the Black Swan Summit India. The President is scheduled to depart for Chhattisgarh on February 7.
