Kangpokpi: Oasis College marked a historic milestone by hosting its first-ever convocation ceremony today at the Conference Hall of LNC Hotel, Kangpokpi.
The event was graced by Professor Ginlallian Buhril, Vice – Chancellor of ICFAI University, Mizoram as Chief Guest, along with distinguish guests such as Ambassador Gautam Mukhopadhyay (Retd. IFS) and entrepreneur Michael Suantak.
The event, held at 10:00 a.m., celebrated the graduation of the inaugural batch of students from the Allied Health Sciences programme and brought together academicians, dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers.

The ceremony commenced with a formal academic procession, setting a solemn and celebratory tone. The programme was compered by Miss Natty Kipgen and Sir Anthony Touthang. An invocation prayer was offered by Rev. Henkholen Kipgen, followed by a musical performance by the Oasis Choir, who presented the song “Count Your Blessings Day by Day.”
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Thathang Vaiphei, Chairman of the Board of Management, extended a warm reception to the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Ginlianlal Buhril, distinguished guests, parents, faculty members, students, and institutional partners.
As a gesture of appreciation, tokens of recognition were presented to the Chief Guest and partner institutions such as Kangpokpi Mission Hospital, Kanggui Diagnostic Centre, Lifespan Diagnostic, and Letpao Hospital.

In his convocation address, Prof. Buhril emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, character building, and soft skills. Reflecting on his personal journey, he encouraged graduates to remain steadfast in faith and committed to growth, stressing that values and purpose outweigh one’s background. He also proposed the introduction of additional awards for leadership and co-curricular excellence in future convocations.
The programme featured a vibrant cultural performance by the Oasis College Dance Club, showcasing traditional dances that added colour and energy to the event.
The conferral of diplomas was led by Ma’am Annie Guite Haokip, AHS Coordinator, highlighting emotional and inspiring moments, including a mother and daughter graduating together.
The institution also acknowledged its partners, including CIHR Dimapur, for their continued support. The closing prayer was delivered by Rev. Kaikholhang Singit, Pastor of TBA Centre Church, Kangpokpi. Awards were also presented to outstanding students, with Kimbailhing Sithlou receiving the Best Discipline Award and N. Marilyn Guite being honoured with the Gold Medal.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating batch, N. Marilyn Guite delivered the valedictory address, expressing gratitude and reflecting on their academic journey.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Sir Lunthang Hangshing, Secretary of the Board of Management, who appreciated the contributions of all stakeholders and urged graduates to carry forward the institution’s values as its ambassadors.
