The government has dismissed claims circulating on social media that a scanned copy of the Union Budget 2026-27 has been leaked on a messaging app.
The Press Information Bureau’s fact-check unit clarified that the claim is false. One of the circulated images is from the Union Budget 2025-26 and has been digitally altered, while another image is entirely fabricated and does not correspond to any official Union Budget document.
Authorities have urged the public to rely on official sources and refrain from sharing unverified content online.
