ndia Hosts 2nd India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

The second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is being held in New Delhi today, co-chaired by India and the UAE. All 22 Arab League countries and the Arab League Secretary General are participating. This is the first such meeting hosted by India, following the first meeting in Bahrain in 2016, which identified five priority areas: economy, energy, education, media, and culture.

The meeting aims to strengthen and expand India-Arab cooperation. Bilateral trade exceeds $240 billion, with hydrocarbon trade alone over $107 billion. India imports major shares of its LPG, LNG, crude oil, and fertilizers from Arab nations. Indian companies are active in energy, infrastructure, IT, health, and renewable energy sectors across Arab countries. Over 9 million Indians live in the region.
