The Nagaland government’s Political Affairs Committee has called for a ‘Naga Common Platform’ to unite civil society groups and push for a single, lasting solution to the decades-old Naga political issue. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy CM T R Zeliang stressed that internal divisions and multiple voices have weakened negotiations, urging tribal bodies to bring all Naga political groups together. While past agreements with NSCN (IM) and NNPGs marked progress, the final settlement remains stalled over demands for a separate Naga flag and constitution. The government reiterated its commitment to facilitating the peace process and discussed development issues related to Dimapur’s railway station and airport.
