MoS Tokhan Sahu Wraps Up Two-Day Official Visit to Manipur

Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, concluded his two-day official visit to Manipur today, during which he assessed the progress of key urban development and welfare schemes in Kakching district.

On the second day, the Minister inspected houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-U) at Ward No. 7 of the Kakching Municipal Council. He also visited the Salam Project Pukhri Achouba, recently revitalized under AMRUT 2.0, and interacted with members of Self Help Groups supported by DAY-NULM near Leibaklei Gas. Additionally, he inspected the Moramba Solid Waste Management site under the municipal council.

During his visit, Sahu toured the Kakching District Hospital and engaged with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, viewing stalls displaying crochet dolls and sanitary pads crafted by the IDPs. He also took part in a tree plantation drive at the DC Office Complex, alongside DC Kakching Uppuluri Chaitanya, IAS, SP Kakching Priyadarshini Laishram, IPS, and forest officials.

The Minister was warmly received by the district administration upon arrival at the Kakching Mini Secretariat. Accompanied by Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar Singh, he met with district officers, reviewed flagship programmes, and urged officials to ensure sincere and effective implementation. Sahu assured his full support and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the overall development of Manipur.
