Mizoram Inaugurates Independent NCC Group Headquarters, Strengthening Youth Discipline and Unity

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma inaugurated the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Mizoram Group Headquarters on January 29, giving the state its own command separate from Assam. The move aims to strengthen youth development and counter substance abuse through structured NCC programs.

The event was attended by Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar, Major General Anurag Vij, and Brigadier GS Arora. Lalduhoma emphasized providing disciplined youth with opportunities to grow, while Major General Vij highlighted NCC’s role in fostering responsible, socially conscious citizens and promoting national integration through inter-state exposure.

Mizoram currently has four NCC units with around 8,000 cadets. The new headquarters is expected to expand activities and outreach statewide, with plans for dedicated infrastructure pending land allocation by the state government.
