Amit Shah Speaks at Workers’ Conference in Barrackpore, West Bengal

Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has accused the West Bengal government of intimidating the Matua and Namasudra communities. Speaking at a workers’ conference at Anandpuri playground in Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas, he said these communities have no reason to fear and emphasized that the SIR process will continue in the state despite the government’s opposition. Shah also alleged that the state’s lack of cooperation has delayed the erection of fencing along the border.

Addressing the warehouse fire in Nazirabad, Narendrapur, South 24 Parganas, which claimed 27 lives, Shah demanded an impartial investigation. He blamed the incident on corruption by the ruling party and accused the Chief Minister of indulging in vote-bank politics even in the aftermath of the tragedy. He further claimed that individuals close to the ruling party are involved, citing the delay in arresting the owner of the Momo company linked to the fire.
