In a significant step towards fostering peace and unity in Manipur, the Meitei Alliance (MA) and Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) are set to make a joint declaration for peaceful co-existence.
A press conference has been scheduled at Vishwa Yuwa Kendra, New Delhi, on March 7 at 3:15 PM to announce the initiative.
The Meitei Alliance, representing Meitei organizations outside Manipur, and Thadou Inpi Manipur, the apex body of the Thadou Tribe, aim to promote community understanding and cooperation amid ongoing tensions in the region.
Until now, there is no such response from Kuki leadership on the planned peace conference. Mentioned may be made that few Thadou group have joined the Meiteis in the conflict with Kukis. These Thadous have also denounced the identity Kuki and stayed independently with their unique Thadou identity.
Media representatives have been invited to cover the event, which is expected to mark a crucial moment in efforts towards reconciliation and stability in Manipur.
