Manipur Police have filed an FIR against BJP MLA L Susindro Meitei over the alleged demolition of an under-construction school building in Imphal East district. The case was registered at Porompat police station following a complaint by the site supervisor, who claimed the structure at Khurai Heikrumakhong Junior High School was demolished with an excavator on January 18 on the MLA’s instructions. The project was funded under the NESIDS scheme and executed by the state government’s Education Engineering Wing. Police have invoked relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. The MLA could not be reached for comment, and investigations are ongoing.
