Former world champion PV Sindhu made a strong comeback after a long injury break, defeating eighth-seeded Tomoka Miyazaki 21-8, 21-13 in just 33 minutes. The Indian star’s dominant performance on Thursday (January 8, 2026) secured her place in the women’s singles quarterfinals of the Malaysia Open Super 1000 badminton tournament.
