Imphal: The Government of Manipur has appointed Lt. General (Retd.) L. Nishikanta Singh as Advisor (Coordination) to the Chief Minister for a period of one year with immediate effect.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel Division) on February 19, 2026, the appointment follows a decision taken during the Cabinet meeting held on February 17, 2026. The order was issued in the name of the Governor of Manipur.
The notification stated that the terms and conditions of his service, including honorarium and other entitlements, will be issued separately in consultation with the Finance Department (PIC),
Government of Manipur.
The order was signed by M. Rabichandra Singh, Under Secretary (DP), Government of Manipur, and circulated to senior officials including the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Deputy Commissioners, and other concerned authorities for necessary action.
