The Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights (KWOHR) in Kangpokpi has condemned what it calls a grave miscarriage of justice following the death of an 18-year-old Kuki woman who endured over two years of sexual violence without redress. Describing her ordeal as “heartbreaking,” KWOHR emphasized that sexual violence is an abuse of power, not a matter of honour.
The organisation criticized both the perpetrators and the institutions that failed to protect her, questioning the justice system’s inaction and societal neglect. KWOHR called for collective action against violence and impunity, urging that the victim’s life serve as a rallying point for ensuring safety, justice, and dignity for all women.
