KSO Churachandpur Urges Calm After Scuffle Between Kuki and Tangkhul Christians in Ukhrul

Churachandpur: The Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur District, has expressed deep concern over a reported scuffle between members of the Kuki and Tangkhul Christian communities in Ukhrul district, stating that the incident allegedly stemmed from a drunken brawl and subsequent misunderstanding.

In a press note issued on February 11, 2026, the student body said the situation has led to localized tension but remains confined to the concerned area. It added that the matter is currently being addressed by responsible authorities and community leaders.

KSO Churachandpur urged residents not to panic and to remain calm and vigilant. The organisation also appealed to the public, particularly social media users and page handlers, to refrain from circulating unverified, misleading, or inflammatory content that could further aggravate the situation.

Assuring the safety of Tangkhul Christian brothers and sisters residing in Churachandpur district, the student body stated that their security would be respected and safeguarded. It called upon the public to extend full cooperation in maintaining mutual trust and communal harmony.
