February 11: The Kuki National Army–B (KNA-B), under the Kuki National Organisation (KNO), has expressed serious concern over the recent violence in Litan Sarei Khong village and appealed to both communities to exercise restraint and responsibility.
In a press release issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity on February 11, 2026, KNA-B stated that the Litan incident was not a communal conflict but began as a scuffle between individuals. The group cautioned against interpreting or expanding the episode beyond its local context, warning that any attempt to turn it into a broader ethnic confrontation would only deepen suffering and instability.
The statement further noted that KNO/KNA-B is closely monitoring reports regarding an alleged attempt to burn Chassad village along the Indo-Burma border. It asserted that KNA-B would protect its people and ancestral land. At the same time, the organisation emphasized that since Tangkhuls and Kukis coexist even across the border in Burma (Myanmar), peaceful relations would benefit both communities.
Calling for an immediate cessation of all arson and hostilities, KNA-B urged Christian communities in particular to remain vigilant and not fall prey to what it described as “classic escalation traps” designed by inimical forces.
The group stressed for peace, restraint, and reason to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
