A full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day parade is scheduled today on Kartavya Path in Delhi. The practice run will begin at 10:30 AM from Vijay Chowk and continue towards the Red Fort, offering a preview of the grand celebrations planned for January 26.
The rehearsal will highlight India’s rich cultural heritage, military strength, and diversity. Marching contingents from the Armed Forces and state tableaux will showcase the country’s varied traditions, while fighter jets and aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) are set to perform an aerial display over Kartavya Path.
According to Delhi Police, the parade route will run from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort, passing through Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Statue, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, and Netaji Subhash Marg. Commuters are advised to avoid these routes to prevent traffic congestion. Delhi Metro services will remain operational, with all stations open to the public during the rehearsal.
