Kangpokpi Police Station Wins DGP Manipur Trophy for Best Police Station, 2025

Imphal: Kangpokpi Police Station has been declared the Best Police Station in Manipur for the year 2025, earning the prestigious DGP Manipur Trophy in recognition of its exemplary performance and public service. The announcement was made by the Director General of Police, Rajiv Singh, through an official order issued on October 17, 2025.

The award comes amidst the volatile situation in Manipur, where the prolonged conflict and security challenges have tested the resilience and professionalism of the state police force. Despite these circumstances, Kangpokpi Police Station, under the Kangpokpi District, stood out for its efficiency, community engagement, and ability to maintain law and order.

The City Police Station in Imphal West District and Bishnupur Police Station in Bishnupur District were adjudged the second and third best police stations respectively. The selection followed a comprehensive evaluation process carried out by a Screening Committee based on recommendations from District Superintendents of Police.

In the individual category, Inspector Gunachandra Chanam of Imphal West District was named Best Police Officer, 2025, for his outstanding professionalism, leadership, and commitment to duty during a period of heightened tensions in the state.

The DGP’s office announced that trophies, commendation certificates, and cash rewards will be presented to the winners during the Manipur Police Raising Day celebration on October 19, 2025.

The awards are aimed at encouraging excellence, dedication, and integrity among police personnel across Manipur, particularly at a time when the force continues to operate under extraordinary circumstances marked by unrest and public distrust.
