Israel Bolsters Military Preparedness as US-Iran Tensions Escalate

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has conducted a thorough review of the military’s operational readiness amid rising tensions with Iran. Katz met with Army Chief Eyal Zamir following Zamir’s recent visit to Washington, where he conferred with US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine and senior Pentagon officials. The talks centered on coordination and readiness for all potential scenarios, including possible US military action against Iran.

The meetings follow a similar US visit by Israel’s military intelligence chief, Shlomi Binder, as both nations ramp up contingency planning in the event of a regional confrontation.

In Tehran, Iranian Army Chief Amir Hatami stated that Iran’s armed forces are maintaining full defensive readiness and monitoring developments closely. He cautioned that any misstep by the United States could endanger Israel and the broader West Asian region.

Heightening tensions further, US President Donald Trump announced that a large naval fleet, led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, is en route to the region. He also warned that Iran’s window to reach a nuclear deal is closing, intensifying concerns over potential regional instability.
