India’s 77th Republic Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour in Dhaka

The 77th Republic Day of India was celebrated with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit in Dhaka on Sunday at the High Commission of India. Members of the Indian community participated in large numbers in the celebrations held at the Chancery building.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, unfurled the national flag and read excerpts from the President of India’s address to the nation, delivered on the eve of Republic Day. He welcomed members of the Indian community and extended greetings on the occasion.

The ceremony featured patriotic songs performed by members of the Indian community in Dhaka, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Similar Republic Day celebrations were also held at the Assistant High Commissions of India in Sylhet, Khulna, Chattogram, and Rajshahi.

Earlier, the High Commission of India hosted a grand reception on Saturday evening at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka to commemorate the 77th Republic Day. Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, attended the event as the chief guest.

The reception saw enthusiastic participation from members of the diplomatic community, political parties, civil society, academia, the Indian diaspora, business leaders, government officials, armed forces personnel, and media representatives. The event served as a platform to celebrate India’s constitutional milestone while further strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering goodwill between India and Bangladesh.
