Guwahati: The Assam committee of the Hmar Sahitya Sabha (HLS) held a meeting in Guwahati yesterday, with representatives from the Hmar Literature Society, Dima Hasao, and the Hmar Literature Society, Barak Valley, in attendance.
The meeting deliberated on key issues, including the development of Hmar MIL textbooks and syllabus, preparations for HLS Day celebrations, measures to increase enrollment in Hmar medium schools, and challenges faced by students.
As per reports received from Dr. Emmanuel L Hmar, the meeting emphasized the promotion of Hmar literature and culture in all Hmar inhabited areas of Northeast. It is also reported that the Sabha has resolved to strengthen and better coordinate member organizations and chart out future plans for the growth of literary culture among the community.
