Reporting from the Margins
A fire broke out late on January 16 at a wholesale medicine shop in Dhubri, Assam, causing losses estimated over Rs 10 lakh. The blaze, spotted by nearby residents, was quickly brought under control by two fire tenders, preventing it from spreading to surrounding shops and homes. Large quantities of medicines and property were destroyed. No casualties were reported. Authorities suspect a short circuit may have triggered the fire and have launched an investigation.
