Security forces in Manipur recovered approximately 15 grams of suspected heroin during a raid at the Khurai Unit-17 office of Arambai Tengol (AT) in Imphal East district on Saturday.
The raid, conducted following a violent clash with cadres of the proscribed United National Liberation Front (Pambei), UNLF(P), took place at Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai near Kongpal Thong.
In addition to the narcotics, security personnel seized three four-wheelers, four pairs of hunting boots, eight bulletproof plates (including two fiber light plates), three wireless handsets, an INSAS bayonet, two .303 bayonets, and two swords.
It may be mentioned that the Arambai Tenggol was in the forefront towards a “drug-free campaign” launched by former Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
